Firstbird launches WorkHero to unleash the power of recommendations for job seekers
The WorkHero platform launches to help the millions who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus find a job faster.
Vienna, June 08, 2020 – The recommendation platform WorkHero’s mission is to help millions of people around the world currently unemployed due to the impact of the coronavirus. Job seekers will now be able to add co-worker recommendations directly to their resumes to make the process of hiring much faster and easier for hiring managers.
The platform is targeted at the millions of non-desk employees that work in the manufacturing, construction, food, beverage, and hospitality industries. WorkHero aims to allow these people to effortlessly and quickly create a resume, add recommendations from colleagues and share them with recruiters. By adding valuable referrals to the resume, recruiters are better able to assess a candidate’s ability to perform the job and can make faster hiring decisions.
“A resume leaves out many people’s performance and commitment. With WorkHero, job seekers can show the story behind their resume by including recommendations from their co-workers which puts them in the fast lane in their next application”
Arnim Wahls – CEO, Firstbird and Founder, WorkHero
WorkHero is launching across three continents in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, and Australia through local partnerships with job boards and companies looking to help former employees transition jobs.
How does it work?
WorkHero is an initiative by the employee referral program Firstbird. WorkHero makes the work behind the resume visible. Job seekers are asked to fill in a basic profile and work history. Then they invite co-workers to share a personal story about how they were a hero in their previous job. The result is a pool of personal recommendations that tell the story of the individual so an employer can quickly assess the candidate’s personal traits for faster hiring.
